I install wireshark on a win7 PC (login as a local admin equivalent), but not able to see the network card in wireshark.  Any idea of where I can go to check?  Thanks.

How many NIC do you have in your PC?
Check your device manager if the drivers for all of your NICs installed properly or not.

Only one.  Network connection is good except that Wireshark's interface configuration does not see it.

sounds like either winpcap is not installed, or it is installed but not started at boot time and you are running as a restricted user that is not able to start it
