TS Gateway failed to install
Hi All,
I'm currently having an issue which began when a user reported they're unable to access RWW because the TS Gateway service was stopped. This is affecting all users.
Following this I checked and the TS Gateway service appeared to be missing which led me to checking the roles in Server Manager where TS role isn't even there.
Subsequently I checked other areas and have tried to reinstall the TS Gateway role where I'm met with the error attached (Problem 2.jpg)
I've rebooted the server and tried again but met with the same error. I have included the log which is generated by this as well.
Any suggestions would be much appreciative.

1.Check the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentCon trolSet\Se rvices\VSS \VssAccess Control
Verify that the setting for NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE is set to 1. If this is set to 0 change it to 1.
2.Open Task Manager, select Show Processes for all users, and kill any instances of IASHOST.EXE that might be running.

Thanks for your reply - I rebooted the server then edited the registry key (which was value 0) and killed the IASHOST.exe instance. I also ENABLED Windows Firewall as I've seen before when the role is installed, it needs to edit ports within Windows Firewall and will fail if it can't........ now working...
It was Windows Firewall in the end
It was Windows Firewall in the end
And the registry change I suppose. :)
Glad it is working now!!

According to your comment 37119356 you did "I rebooted the server then edited the registry key (which was value 0) and killed the IASHOST.exe instance." which I suggested and you additionally Enabled the Firewall. So that should be worth some points!

No problem. Thanks!!
Do the following to get past the restart requirement:
1. Open regedit
2. Browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM
3. Now Delete the value "PendingFileRenameOperatio
4. Try to reinstall the role
5. Restart your machine
Hope this helps!!
Cheers!!
