Login script only fire intermittently.

Hey all...

In my group policy, I have a VBS script that runs and mounts drives and printers for my active directory users.
Problem is, it does not always fire. I am now to the point where I have a shortcut in their startup folder on their respective systems to launch the startup script, but... I would much rather have it fire off as it is supposed to.

Event logs are not telling me much of anything either...

Any help would be appreciated.

    Accepted Solution

What group(s) is the policy assigned to?

What kind of load are your DC's under?

Is the issue with  some group off one switch?

Does the issue happen at certain times?

Just some thoughts or questions to look at.

how is the DNS settings on the working and failing client machines?
Any chances that the failing desktops are going out-of-sync with the DCs?
(IMO, still can logon to the desktop and validate the user-creds using the shared\stored creds on the OS?)

We created a "Workstations" OU and the Default GP was not applied to the new OU.

Your GP query led me into the right direction...
