having an issue with a doc on a particular printer

WIndows xp SP3, HP laserjet 4100.. A user has four docs that are setup with a custom size paper. For some reason when she tries to send the job to her printer it asks for legal and prints it legal size when the custom size is 7.5x3.5.. She has had these docs and the same printer for years and has never had an issue. When I print the doc to any other printer it prompts for the custom size paper. I have updated the driver, uninstalled reinstalled the driver. Makes no difference.   Any ideas?

Have you gone through this procedure to register the custom paper size with the printer driver:
