Unable to browse to internal website without prefixing www

Hi,

I am not able to browse my company's website without prefixing www.  Google and other external sites work fine without prefixing www.  The website is to be used by internal and external users. When connect through externally, it is accessible without prefixing www.

What can I do to troubleshoot the problem?  Thanks.

One way is to add a ServerAlias tag to your web site configuration:

ServerName www.mywebsite.com
ServerAlias mywebsite.com

Also, in the DNS records for your web site, you may need to define a CNAME record:

mywebsite.com A 234.123.234.123
www.mywebsite.com CNAME mywebsite.com

Hi sjklein42,

Thanks for your comments.  Unfortunately, the problem I have is that my company's internal and external domain names are the same and that is the reason that I can't browse internally without the www prefix.  I will go ahead and close the question for now.
