Does the HP OJ 7300 allow to save a scan as a PDF?
One of our remote sales guys cannot scan to PDF from HP OJ 7300. He is using Windows XP with Office 2007.
The only choiecs he gets when he saves the scans is:
*** if he choses to scan a document, he gets .TIF file choice to save as...noting else. And then it does not open after he saves it.
*** if he scans a picture he gets the options: BMP, TIF, JPEG, FPX, PCX and PNG.
He needs to ahve it save as a PDF.
It is the same weather he scans from the contraol panel by selecting hte scan button or if he initiates it from HP Director.
Does the HP Image Zone Allow him to setup for scan to PDF?
i remote controlled his machine and poked around in hte scan settings and did not see options to set for file types, etc.
Does anyone know if this machine is even capable of scanning a PDF without using Adobe Standard?
Thank you,

I do not believe it has this capability. The HP manual for that model does not mention PDF at all.

I would make a business case to your IT department that they should include PrimoPDF as part of the approved installed software.

Thank you,
True, but the manual also does not refer to saving of any other formats with certain extensions such as JPG and TIF and it saves to those formats. i also looked a the Spec sheet that does not mention anyting about file formats.
I need to know "for sure" if this can or cannot be done.

I quoted the data sheet above and it give the specific formats and PDF is NOT one of them. This is for sure for this model.
