Crystal Reports 11 crashes Windows 7

Hi,
We have recently implemented Windows 7 64bit and crystal report 11 on our stations. And we experienced random crashes of our applications everyday since then. Some other school had the same problem and they swited back to Crystal 9, and that solved 99% of the problem. We would like to seek your advice on what is the best to do for the crashes. (Any fixes? Patches?). The attached is the error when the crash happed.
Thanks a lot,
Luchuan

No version CR 11 or before is supported on 64-bit Win7.  It must be run in 32-bit mode.

What application are you running?

Are these ones you wrote and can recompile under Win7?

What Windows version were you running before?

Hi mlmcc:
We are running a dental clinic management software called axium, and our previous OS is XP.
These crystal reports are created by us in XP station, and distributed to Win 7 stations as *.rpt to be launched/viewed within axium.
Would Crystal report XIR2 or 2008 or any version of Crystal Report works on 64-bit win 7?
Also, MS Win7 software compatibility site says that Crystal Report 11 is compatible, that seems not aggree with "No version CR 11 or before is supported on 64-bit Win7." ?

Would appreciate your further insight on this problem.

Thanks a lot,

Luchuan

You would want CR XI R2 and it would have to run in 32-bit mode.

I haven't seen the MS Win site but the Crystal site is fairly explicit in which are compatible in 64-bit mode and it doesn't include CR XI.

How is the application built?
DO you know which method is being used to display the reports?

Hi mlmcc:
Would you provide the link of the Crystal Site.
Also, our Windows Sys Admin said that the 64-bit Win 7 will automatically run Crystal 11 in 32-bit mode, is that true?
Thanks a lot,

Are you using an ODBC database connection for the repors?

If so you need to use the 32-bit ODBC admistrator program

 C:Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

No, we use Oracle tnsnames to connect to Oracle database.

Is it a 32 or 64 bit connection?   Crystal XI is strictly a 32-bit connection.

Hi mlmcc:
Thanks a lot for your help.
Your comments leads us to find the root cause of our crashes. Now we are working with SAP to upgrade our crystal runtime from XI to 2008. And I will post another question if we see a new problem for the upgrade.
