vSphere: Extend the capacity of datastore

I want to extend the capacity of the datastore but when I'm on the dialog box of increasing the capacity and select the extent device, I can't see anything on the list. So I can't continue extending the capacity of my datastore. What should be the best way to solve this issue?

What type of datastore is this?  What type of device do you have Ilocal storage or SAN/NAS?

You have to add some info about your vmware farm here.
To be general, however, the typical scenario is:
To extend your datastore you have to create one additional LUN using your SAN manager software. That LUN has to be visible by your vmware farm, then you'll have the option to select your brand new LUN to extend your datastore.
