Hi there,

I am using hyper-v 2008 R2 and have created a vm machine which I would like to use as a template for creating 3 vms with exactly the same spec and harddrive. I know sysprep can be used but do not know how to go about using it? Is that the best method, if so how is it done or can it be done within hyper v manager?

    Accepted Solution

Yes. You can sysprep the vm as normal. When it is shutdown just create a copy of the .VHD file. You can then use this for the new VM. Its easy enough to create a new vm with the relevant spec (or you could export/import).
