Starting Web Hosting Business

I am starting Web Hosting business, the servers will use Apache cPanel/WHM, What is the best hardware choice to start this business? I don't want to invest a lot of money in the beginning.

What is the recommended internet speed to start?
What is the total cash for this investment (in details)?
If you have any marketing ideas please let me know.

Thank you!

Answers to your questions boil down to a few things -- how many sites will you be hosting, how many estimated concurrent users at any time, how many peak users at any time, how many customers you plan in the future, do you need redundancy/DR, how "complex" will your hosting options be (will you have a database on the server, other things running on the server(s), shared environment (VPS), etc), and how deep your wallet is.

If, for example, you will have 3 sites hosted that get like a dozen hits a day each, you could host that off of a Pentium 800mhz with 512MB of RAM if you wanted to.  Long story short, you don't need much for Apache itself -- it's all the other stuff (db's, # of users/visitors, etc) you should be most concerned with.

@Papertrip: Basically, I am talking about starting the business, in the beginning you will not have alot of websites hosted, however I need something that can have at least 30-40 website on average/less than average bandwidth/disk space usage (I will start with Shared Host), I will offer Resellers and VPS as well.

Many hosting companies start by leasing servers in other people's data centers.  If you try to do it on your own, you are stuck with a single ISP to service your sites.  Hosting centers typically contract with many backbone providers to maximize access to their servers.  This page from Herakles http://www.heraklesdata.com/offerings.php shows the carriers that they they have contracted with.  http://www.he.com/ is one that I use for my own sites that does leased servers also.  They are one of the leaders in IPV6 and have worldwide connections.
