Windows Media player wont open

i think my win media player is damaged. when i try to open it nothing happens.. also i get errors on win media files.. how can i fix it.. i went to programs on the CP but i cant find it there.. please help

Hi,

I would recommend trying to download a copy of the media player from microsoft, using the .exe you download you should be able to remove then re-install the media player.

Or you could give up on it completely and use a 3rd part program, i would recommend VLC media Player.

I cant find a copy of wmp 12 anywhere.. i found 11 but its tells me that it cant install due to a newer version already installed.

Close all apps and then run this fixit.

Reboot computer and check.

PauL: i ran it and says windows resource ptotection did not find any intergrity violations.
