The yellow triangle usually means no DNS resolution. Check if your server has DNS servers in the adapter settings.

Michael HouserLan AdministratorAuthor Commented:
The server does but it looks like the VM has the loop back as its DNS

isaman07Commented:
In the VM settings check the netwok node to see if it's bridged or NAT or host only.

Michael HouserLan AdministratorAuthor Commented:
I dont see that setting

Go to the properties of your external virtual network adapter and check the settings of the TCP/IP 4. pay attention if it has DNS servers assigned.

Michael HouserLan AdministratorAuthor Commented:
It has DNS server assigned

I supposed I could change the network setting on the VM machine.

Is it assignes an address from the same subnet as your physical machine? How about your virtual machine?

I tried Bridging the connections on the server but that didn't seem to help. The IP of the server is 19.168.0.x

The IP that the VM is getting is 192.168.1.x and there is no DNS listed

Michael HouserLan AdministratorAuthor Commented:
sorry 192.168.0.x = Server IP

isaman07Commented:
Well there you go, try to ping the server from the VM.

Michael HouserLan AdministratorAuthor Commented:
Can not ping from VM.

I could set the IP manually.

Would that be the best?

isaman07Commented:
Try that.

nope that didn't seem to work. Still no internet connection. I have also tried to create a legacy network connection to no success..

When I look at the network connection on the server it comes up as Connection-specific DNS Suffix:
Description: New Virtual Network
Physical Address: ¿E4-1F-13-2F-30-94
DHCP Enabled: No
Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address: 169.254.189.13
IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
IPv4 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.254
IPv4 DNS Servers: 192.168.0.33, 192.168.0.10
IPv4 WINS Server:
NetBIOS over Tcpip Enabled: Yes
Link-local IPv6 Address: fe80::b0c8:7bcd:cfd9:bd0d%18
IPv6 Default Gateway:
IPv6 DNS Server:

I think this may be the problem. I am not sure how to fix it.

Thanks,

Michael HouserLan AdministratorAuthor Commented:
The adapter in question does have an IP of 92.168.0.x
0

isaman07Commented:
DHCP Enabled: No
Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address: 169.254.189.13

Those two line clearly show thet your machine does not have an IP address, please enable DHCP on it.
