Do you mean 'pause' ?

Or are you standing by and waiting for input?

Or were you referring to the powersaving 'standby'?
The Microsoft distributed PSSHUTDOWN has a hibernate option, and I believe if you don't have hibernate enabled on the system, it'll fall back to standby.

And I've confirmed that "rundll32 powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState" will put you in hibernate.

I don't see anything else native to the OS to put system into standby.  There are some third party utilities though...

Razmus:

A shortcut with "rundll32 powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState" as its target does exactly what I want.

BTW, if "Hibernate" is enabled, the shortcut causes the 'puter to hibernate.

Thanks,
Charlie
