Batch files/command line

I'm looking for a beginner's guide to using the command line and batch files in Windows.
Can anyone help me?

That is kind of a broad request.

Anything specific you are looking for?

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

I suppose I should add that if you do not already know this, do you have to use DOS/CMD or can you possible jump to PowerShell?

Sort of like BAT on steroids?  It is 'almost' a real scripting language.  I've not used it much so it might even be a real one in some circles.

Thanks, all. I'm going to check out what you answered and then award points. I'm still open to more ideas, too.

This is a utility that might help in creating .bat files as well. You can readily add commands from the left, and quickly see all the switches, syntax highlighting etc.....

Lots of good examples as well...

Also, using a Text Editor like Notepad++ also helps as it can highlight commands in various colors so you can easily spot typos.....
