This is a new install of Exchange 2010.
Windows 2008 R2 SP1.
Exchange Rollup 5 - installed.
Time is the same on the DC and the exchange server.
Exchange Database won't mount due to this error.
I just restart the Active Directory Topology service and the I am able to mount the exchange database.
There is no need to change time.
Just restart the service and everything works.
All PCs and servers get their time from the DC.

Double check the time zone on both servers...
setting the time to the same would be totally wrong if the time zones didnt match.

    daylight savings settings the same?

Did you sync time on the excange server with the DC using net time?

    Accepted Solution

Ok so I forgot to mention information that was the source of the problem.
The exchange server is on a vmware machine.
The time of the VMWARE machine was in GMT and this is what was causing the problem.
Once I configured the VMWARE machine to use NTP (of the domain controller) all is well.
