Windows 7 vpn connection to remote domain causes problems on LAN

Hello,
My users need to connect to a remote domain using a Windows vpn connection. When Windows 7 users connect, they then have problems connecting to the share folders and other network resources in their own domain, or are prompted for their network user name and password. Usually, the credentials that are listed are that of the remote domain user. The users that are connected on Windows XP machines do not experience this. It looks like the same type of connection on each machine (I've tried automatic and PPTP VPN) Any idea what is going on or how to fix it?

Thanks.
Steve

Most likely it is due to the "use default gateway on remote network" setting in the vpn connection.

Is this a manually created vpn connection? Created using CMAK?

Manual connection in Network and Sharing Center. I don't see a place to enter gateway information. if I go into the advanced network settings and look at TCP/IP ipv4 settings the connection is set for DHCP.

Under that same menu (TCP/IP) there is another advanced button...first checkbox is Use default gateway on remote network.

I unchecked "use default gateway on remote network." I need to see if this makes a difference over the next day or so. The Windows XP machines have tis setting checked as well, but they are not experiencing the issue.

Yes, I have seen it be way more of a problem on Win7 than on xp... I dont know if that was a flaw in XP or if it is now a flaw in 7 :)

Hope it helps!

No problems after changing the remote gateway setting. Thank you.
