Verify Backup at the end of running a Batch File
Hi,
I'm using XP SP3 and use a scheduled task to copy certain files onto Dropbox to create a daily backup. This is done using XCOPY in a Batch file.
The first scheduled job is to backup a program called "Quantum Control" by Component Control Systems. If the backup fails there is no warning and I only know about it if I later happen to compare the backed up dropbox "Quantum" file with the live copy.
Sometimes weeks can go by before I realise the backup is not working.
I would like to verify the Backup at the end of running the Batch File
Any ideas ? Let me know if I have missed anything
Chris

I think you should have the points as it was a well explained solution

It may well be a good bet for many but I'm really after a simpler solution.
A friend gave me an idea today :-
Basically my Laptop turns iteself on, and backs up 1/2 hour before I get up. So now
I've added an extra command at the end of the batch file to open the backup folder,
so it's sat there waiting for me to check that the file has got todays date on it.
I'm going to try this for a while. Chris
