Configuring Exchange Server Ports

I'm trying to configure an e-mail  client to send e-mail through our hub server.  The client is on the network.  I get the error message #25062  Connection failed.  Tried a number of things but still get the same error code...Any ideas?

    I would need more details about the client and the destination. Is this an Outlook client on a domain computer? Sending mail externally or to the domain?

    The software program in on a computer that is a member of the domain.  The e-mail setup program asks for the name or ip of the server, port, authentication, and user name and password.  When sending e-mails with this program I get connection refused...

    Exchange 2007 doesnt allow SMTP connections like that out of the box....

    You most likely need to create a new SMTP connector for this pupose. I do not remember where I found this guide, so apologies to the author... but this word doc is what I use to setup my anonymous relays when needed for copiers, backup exec etc...
