Are VMs from ESXi compatible with VMWare Fusion on Mac?

Hi there

I have ESXi on some machines at work and VMWare Fusion on my Macbook Pro.

Are the VMs from ESXi compatible with VMWare Fusion? Would be very useful if they were!

And if I edit them on the Mac can they be sent back to ESXi somehow?
