iPhone4 & iPad - Exchange 2008 - Task List interface or app

Need your adivce.  I have been searching for a "task" list application that interfaces with Exchange 2008.  I see that there are a number of iPhone "task list" type apps, but from what I understand they do NOT interface with Exchange.  I want to be able to open a new task on the iPhone and have it showup in my Outlook 2010 task list.  Any help would be appreciated.  Many thanks, as I am a stuck puppy on this issue.

Simply upgrade your iPhone to iOS5 and then you can sync the Tasks with the (finally) built-in App Reminders, which has been a long time in coming and will sync Outlooks Tasks to your iPhone.

Many thanks for your speedy reply...maybe I am a crazy person, but I just left the Apple store here in New Orleans and I talked to the Exchange "specialist" who told me that Reminders do NOT sync Outlook Tasks to the iPhone.   Please forgive me, but have you done this....have you synced Exchange 2008, using Outlook 2010 tasks to an iPhone.  If so...then you get a New Orleans shrimp Poor-boy ln French bread and I will also thrown in a gold star for your effeors.  If you have, then I'd like to see a procedure or link on how to do it.   I assume "settings" then "Exchange" ????  Many thanks again.

Then the Apple Specialist presumably doesn't know what he is talking about!

I have Exchange 2010 and an iPhone 4S and just added a Task to Outlook 2010 (using a Cached Exchange account) and it appeared magically in my iPhone Reminders (as a Task).

Cannot vouch for Exchange 2007 (Exchange 2008 doesn't exist).

Wow...you are the man.  Only difference is that I have an iPhone 4 and I am in the process of upgrading  the OS to v5...so I further assume that the iPhone Reminders is part of iOS 5, or do I have to upgrade the physical iPhone to 4S???   And, yes, thank you KimoSabe for pointing out my typo error about Exchange 2008...

Reminders is one of the 200 new features of iOS5 and once you have upgrade to this on your iPhone 4, then you can happily sync tasks to the iPhone (and view them in Reminders.  An iPhone 4 cannot be upgraded to a 4S - the 4S is a new device with different processor etc.

I also just configured an Exchange account on my iPhone to an SBS 08 server (using Exchange 2007) and can happily confirm that it works too :)

The same applies to the iPad - once iOS5 is installed it will sync happily with Exchange Tasks.

Best you go tell the Apple Exchange 'Specialist' that he needs to do some more homework!

Sorry re Exch 2008 :0

Oki Alan...you are the BIG DOG on this issue.  I will test the above on my iPhone once the iOS5 upgrade completes...another 3 hours).  Many, many thanks for your help....I really appreciate it.   AND, YES, I plan on telling the Apple "Specialist" that he needs to do his homework.  Again, thanks.  You get the 500 points and the Gold star...sorry, I just finished off the shrimp poor-boy sandwich.

Hope the upgrade goes smoothly (no reason it shouldn't).

Backup the phone to iTunes first and make sure you have the latest version of iTunes, then upgrade away.

Happy syncing.
