Alternative to NComputing System

Our small business currently has the Ncomputing thin client system. We run Windows 7 32 bit.  We have seven L230 thin clients.  These clients dont support dual monitors, and the newer L300 also dont support dual monitors.   Here is what I would like to do

1.  Continue to use our Windows 7 server with all of our applications and data on it
2.  Remove the NComputing VSpace virtuaization software, and replace it with a different type of desktop virtualization software.
3.  Replace the NComputing L3230 thin clients with regular PC's running Windows 7

In the end, each user would still be able to access and run applications on the server, but the PC would act as the client.   Because each user now has a Windows 7 PC, they could now run dual desktops, and would be able to continue to use web based applications in the server went down.

Is this possible?  What is the best virtualization software to use for less then 10 users.  I want easy and reliable.   Finally, is any extra hardware required for the client PCs in order to connect to the server?
