All (Internal and external) Exchange 2010 mail to query MX records for delivery.

I understand that Microsoft Exchange delivers internal mail directly to users' Exchange inboxes without querying the MX records for the domain, whereas it always queries the MX records for messages sent to external recipients.

Besides the exchange 2010 box, I have a Google Apps with Postini for spam filtering plus email backup.   I would like all email to be routed through the Google servers not just the ones coming from external recipients.  Is this possible? and if so, how?

Thanks,
Marcelo

For outgoing, there are two ways:
1.Smarthost the conenctor to the postini ip.
2. USe external dns server setting on transport server and use dns to send emails.

For incoming you have to point the mx record to postini email address.
Please check with postini if u hvae more doubts

Thank you for your response.  I will investigate about how to use smarthost.

Answer is too general and thus, not sure if and or how it would apply.
