Users with expired passwords loose connection to Redhat after successfully changing their expired passwords while using an application such as Exceed.  They get an error message saying “No TTY available” This doesn't happen with putty.   Being a newbie with RedHat this is a real thorn in my side.

    Can the user reconnect fine?

This would need a lot of troubleshooting.  I have seen similar issues in the past and the problem was improper PAM configuration.

If they can reconnect OK then I would venture a guess that troubleshooting this problem would be more hassle than it's worth: they can just deal with it.  I've encountered similar problems with windows-based VPN's when I have to change my password.
