Network driver for HP Probook 6460b to use with Symantec Ghost

Hi -

Does anyone have any idea which network driver needs to be installed in Symantec Ghost's boot wizard in order to image an HP Probook 6460?  I've been on all the boards and nothing seems to work.  My latest attempt was downloading sp52209.exe

The Ethernet Controller for this model is Intel 82579V Gigabit Network Controller.

When booting a 6460b to windows 7, I do get an ip, and I can get on the internet.  However, while using my usb stick as a boot disk using winpe, nothing.

I've been looking for an answer for this for about a week now so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jamie

Are you going to use winpe to boot and symantec ghost from within or are you just going to boot with the symantec ghost boot cd? Is your goal to just make an image of your system? If so, best program for that IMHO is Acronis TrueImage or even Partition Magic.  I always use Acronis as it's easy to use and never have any problems with it.

No, I use ghost within to both create and deploy images.

I did some more research.

Comment from Timanator near the bottom.  This person talked to Symantec who seem to know of the issue but there is no fix at this time.

Trust us.  You won't regret using Acronis.  I know you think it'll be too much of a learning curve (I used to think this when I never tried it yet) but it's so easy and works great.  It's based on Linux and it works with just about all drives, sata and raid.  They're constantly updating their releases too to include any new drivers that come out for new hardware.  You can even email them and ask to mail you a fix until the next release (I've had them do this for me before).

I can almost guarantee you'll be able to make new images and deploy them without any driver issue.
