EDB 18.9gb STM 9Gb - is that right?

Every Sunday, I carry out a full exchange backup using Veritas Backup V10 using the Exchange options "Full - Database & Logs (flush committed logs) and Fi;; - Backup messages - Reset archive bit/

I can see all the logs files in the maildata folder have been flushed but the STM file is getting larger.

Is this normal, I though the STM would reduce if I carried out a Full Database Backup and Flush Logs.

    Accepted Solution

no the STM file is holding emails that are received from the internet and not yet fully converted to MAPI format in the EDB DB, so the sizes are fine for me
