Stored procedure question

I read in the following stored procedure:

   CREATE procedure DropIt ()
     LANGUAGE SQL
     modifies sql data
   BEGIN
      drop table catalog;
      commit;
   END
   /

Open in new window

The language is SQL.  Do most stored procedures use LANGUAGE SQL.  Any any written in other directives, if so what.  Can a 'C' program access the Stored procedure written above?

Thanks]

Hi Greensburo,

The language that is used to write a SQL Stored Procedure has no bearing on other procedures.  If a user has the authority to run procedures A and B, then one can be in SQL, another in SQL, C, JAVA, etc.
