SQL 2000 attach database getting Error 2812

Trying to attach database to SQL 2000. Getting the following:
MIcrosoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLStates: 42000)
Error 2812: Could not find store procedure 'master.dbo.xp_fileexit'.

Any suggestions to how I can attached database?

    I assume that should be "xp_fileexiSt".

    Verify that you have entered all the file paths and names correctly.  [Remember, the drives/paths are SQL Server's drive/path mappings, not your logins.]

    I endup restore the databases from my tape backup. Thank you for your reply,

    I restored the database from tape backup instead of attaching the DB
