Unable to search personal contacts in Outlook Web Access

Hi,

Having a strange issue with Outlook Web Access on Exchange 2010 SP1.

A user reported that he was no longer able to search his contacts through the OWA interface. (GAL Searches work fine, it's just personal contact searches). He can view all his contacts still, and scroll through them, but searching won't work.

Initially I couldn't reproduce the issue with my account, but then I noticed it has to do with the amount of contacts the user has. Personally I have a very limited number of contacts (<20) and my searching works fine. I logged in as a different user that has a large number of contacts (couple hundred) and searching fails completely. It is not user-specific, I have tried with a few different users that have a large number of contacts and it is the same results.

There are definitely contacts matching the search criteria, yet it returns No Results. I have tried searching for a contact that appears first in the list and ones that are further down the list. This happens when searching from "Contacts" and from clicking on the "To:" button when composing an email.

Anyone have any idea on what could be causing this or where to start troubleshooting from?

Thanks.

Strange... I'm getting the same results with the Outlook client as well. Users with lots of contacts and searching doesn't work; small amount of contacts and searching works.

Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer Service is started and running.
Check whether this service is running on cas or not.
Also check UR3v3 is installed or not.
Check for latest roll-ups.
It's a single-server environment.

I have UR2, UR3-v3, and UR5 installed on the Exchange Server.

I'm going to reboot the server tonight after-hours and see if that doesn't resolve things. I'll update in the morning.

Thanks.
Rebooted the Exchange Server last night, same results today. Still can't search contact lists with a large number of contacts. I tested this with several users both in Cached Mode and Online Mode, same result.

Any other suggestions?
I narrowed it down to a specific database. It actually has nothing to do with the amount of contacts a user has. I tested a user with 500 contacts in a different database and the search worked fine.

I'm going to try rebuilding the database search index.

Catalog Index files were corrupt. Deleting them and allowing the Search Indexer to rebuild them has solved the issue.
