Hello, i'm missing files and folders in a shared folder that has a couple people mapped to it on a windows 2003 server(this server is actually a virtual sever on a 2008 r2 server).

anyways, i dont think the files were deleted, but the folders are still there and show nothing in them.  I have folder options view hidden files enabled.

Thanks for the input these are important files that are missing!

have you looked in the backup file to see if the files are still there? once you get a name of a file try a search to see if you can located it on the server

It turns out the files that were missing were never there.  The user setup the directories and never put files in them.  That is why the backups were missing the files, and I could not recover deleted files with recovery tools.  Thanks for your input.
