Outlook stays open

Hello,

When I close Outlook, it seems to keep control of the PST file for awhile even though Outlook is closed. Something still has control over the PST file. I looked at my processes and did not see Outlook.exe running. What else should I look for in my processes so that I can force Outlook to release the PST file after it is closed? I am running OUtlook 2010 (32bit).

Thanks,
John

Check your add-ins to see what is running in outlook in case you have a culperit in there.  Just open up outlook, click the file tab, options, add ins

Could be that it is compacting the pst file once you exit Outlook. How much time does it take?

My Add-In is Outlook Spy, but I don't see it open after closing Outlook.

This can take up to 2 minutes unless I log out of Windows and then log back in, which takes about 15 seconds. But, what a pain.

Try disabling your add-in and try again?

Also: in Tools, Options, Other tab: click Advanced Options, and then click COM Add-ins. Any add-ins there? Disable them and try again?

Process Explorer
Http://live.Sysinternals.Com/procexp.Exe

Use the search to see what has an open handle on the pst. . Search for the actual name of the pst itself...
