Outlook stays open

When I close Outlook, it seems to keep control of the PST file for awhile even though Outlook is closed. Something still has control over the PST file. I looked at my processes and did not see Outlook.exe running. What else should I look for in my processes so that I can force Outlook to release the PST file after it is closed? I am running OUtlook 2010 (32bit).

Could be that it is compacting the pst file once you exit Outlook. How much time does it take?

My Add-In is Outlook Spy, but I don't see it open after closing Outlook.

This can take up to 2 minutes unless I log out of Windows and then log back in, which takes about 15 seconds. But, what a pain.

Try disabling your add-in and try again?

Also: in Tools, Options, Other tab: click Advanced Options, and then click COM Add-ins. Any add-ins there? Disable them and try again?
