I have a client who has a Vista desktop on their home network. that PC has a usb connected HP Photosmart 7660. I shared the printer and named it HP7600 on their network. the other PCs can use it fine.
If I connect the printer to a Macbook with OSX 10.5 via a USB the Macbook loads a driver for a HP Photosmart 7600 series and printing is perfect.
But I want to connect the printer over the network. So I added it using smb://workgroup/VistaPC/HP7600 and then when I try to find the driver it is not listed. the highest driver is for a photosmart 7100 and it don't work.
If I go to HP.com they won't let me download a new driver because they say that OSX 10.5 already includes a driver for the 7600 series.
How do I find and use the driver that gets automatically used when i connect the printer with the usb cable?
