Stream Videos from Web Site

I have a client that is lookig to stream some videos on their website.  We aren't talking about a ton of videos or anything, but a few.

The files will be around 45 mb in size, and will come in the form of .avi.

they are ok with converting to flash if needed.

They house their own website on an archaric web server that is in need of upgrading, and I'm not entirely sure of their internet connection speed.

What would be the best way to put these up on the web to stream without constant buffering or waiting 10 minutes to load?

speed test shows 5mb down, .6 up, so that is a huge issue I'm sure.  Not even 1mb up will cause major streaming issues, right?

Wha wshould I recommend them to get for an upload speed?

Honestly, the best way to do video is to put it on YouTube and then embed the result.

    youtube is an option.
Another option that puts you in full control of the video delivery is to use a CDN, like Amazon cloudFront or Limelight.

Alternatively, get a hosting package from 1and1 or godaddy and place your videos there. You don't have to move the entire web site, just the video files.

Great ideas guys, I like them :)

Question about Youtube.  I mentioned it to them, but they were against it due to confidientially reasons.  Is there a way that if I post the video to youtube that I can embedd it in our website, yet not make it visible to random people viewing youtube?
