The tool that Joelsplace suggests is able to blank the password. You would create a bootable CD which the site can guide you how to do, With your windows Hoe server turned off, you would then boot it from the CD instead of the local hard drive and then, the tool will walk you through the steps to blank the password. In all the times I have used the tool - probably 50ish, I have never had it corrupt a system and it has always blanked the password and allowed me to log in to a locked out system.

When you set up your server and entered a password for the console in the Out of Box experiecne - the wizard that greats you when you first turned it on, that it also the administrator password.

Another alternative is when you went through the initial wizard or afterwards, did you create a password reset disk? If you did, that would also allow you to officially rest the password.

I've never had an issue with it either.  Works great.  Don't be intimidated by all the questions it asks just take the default on most of them and then tell it to blank the password not reset.  I'll bet money it will take care of you.

I'm just afraid something will happen and I will not know how to fix it.

<<, did you create a password reset disk? If you did, that would also allow you to officially rest the password.
How Can I check that?

There is no way to check - it would been part of the initial setup process and would have asked you to create a disk.

It is unlikely to cause your system any harm - however I do grant that there is a very small risk.

At present as you cannot log in to use the Hoe Server n the fashion that you like, it is not useable, so giving it a go will not make it any worse.

my other option is to reset and restore the system

Just go for the bootable password reset CD.  It's a small download and simple to use if you take your time and read what it asks you.  I've used it countless times and never had it mess up a system.  A couple of times it didn't work but those ended up being hardware problems like failing hard drives and cd/dvd drives.
