Out of Memory- Rational Application Developer - Websphere Software
I am using a system which had Rational Application Developer already installed. I have some project already there. When I do searches within the project I always get Stack overflow.
My system has 3.49GB RAM and 6 GB of Free Disk space.
how to increase the memory allocation for RAD? What values should I set and where in RAD?

where is the logs generated inside? What is the file name?
The docs should have the info you need. Maybe even the built in help.
Check out this performance link it talks about cleanup and logs:

Look in the "metadata" folder of the workspace.

If the error happened during the use of a Wizard, then look in .metadata/.plugins/com.ibm .pzn.resou rce.wizard s/debug.lo g

Not clear with the path forwrd. Am I missing something.
I would suggest you click the 'Request Attention' link above and see if a Moderator can locate Experts that might have Rational experience.

I think there was some cyclic reference (potential problem) which caused the initialization of workspace to fail everytime. Removing all projects and cleaning the workspace resolved that dependency and solved the problem.
