on click server authentication box form

I have a onclick button that opens a new page directly to an ip address.
The page requires authentication: looks like this:The server 6
at ECOR2 requires a username and password.

I think it must be server authentication.

Is there a way to set up onclick script so that the pop box will  populate when you click the button?

Thinking about it you could probably use this:

http://username:password@www.yourserver.com/

This could work if you used a location.href but your browser might warn you
