I have a logon script which and it is failing but I'm unsure where.

Server 2008 R2 and it is not joined to a domain.

Under local users and profile I have logon script pointing to %SystemRoot%\LogonScripts\testuser1.bat (a directory I created.

I can run my bat file and it runs perfectly but when I logon and log off my drive doesn't map.

Any ideas?

you need to share your %SystemRoot%\LogonScripts folder as netLogon.
e.g. Net share Netlogon=%systemRoot%\LogonScripts

and on the user account profile, pls just use testuser1.bat

Sorry for my ignorance but

Net share Netlogon=%systemRoot%\LogonScripts

does not work.  It's telling me I'm using the wrong syntax.  Do I break the command up differently?

please ensure the folder (in this case, %SystemRoot%\LogonScripts ) exist before running net share

Yes I disagree.  Netlogon does not appear to work, like you can't even start the service while the server is in a workgroup.

What I did in the meantime is made it a DC and located the script in the normal sysvol location.

After rigorous testing I concluded that it is extremely difficult to get workhroup servers working like this and it was easier to create a domain.

I thoroughly tested the suggested comments given by the expert here but they did not seem to work.
