Outlook 2007 with Office Home 2010

I have a customer with a home computer. They have Office Home 2010 which does not have Outlook so he install Outlook 2007 SP2 which he had. I cannot get the Outlook 2007 SP2 to connect to the Exchange server. I get it to connect while setting up but then when I go to launch Outlook it says the folders are not available or something like that. I am using RPC over HTTP. I have two other computers in his house that is works fine on. One has Office 2007 and the other has Office 2010. Ya why can't he use those I know.

I cannot do a lot of diagnostics on this machine but does anyone know of any incompatibilities between Office Home 2010 and Outlook 2007?

You can run Outlook 2007 with Office 2010, I've done this in the past on several computers with no problems.  I assume your problem is in your RCP over HTTP connection.  I assume if you are using RCP over HTTP then you are using a VPN or an SSL connection.  If SSL connection then did you install the proper certificate on the computer?  If VPN, is the VPN connecting and can you see the Exchange server thru the VPN?

Try setting up Outlook to work with a POP3 account like gmail.  If that works then the problem is not with Outlook.
