iPhone Calendar Timezone Problem

I am in Minneapolis 6 hours difference from London and I was looking at the calendar on the iphone and all the meetings are shown 6 hour earlier.... like 2.30am instead at 8.30am...how come?

The timezone on iCal on Mac (where the majority of the appointments have been entered) is set to UK time, but I think the iPhone has automatically changed timezone when entering the US. So all the appointments have been translated to US time.

Can the calendar be set to US time independently of the phone itself?
