I have a 2008R2 domain controller (running dns) I want to install an additional domain controller but am unsure how DNS should be setup. On the second server should I point my dns to the main domain controller then run dcpromo adding dns though the wizard. Once the wizard is finished then I change the DNS back to point to itself seeing as the role along with the active directory services should be installed and propagated from the main DC at that point.<br />

Also before adding the second domain controller do I need to run domain or forest prep on the main domain controller as I saw this suggestion in a few posts. I'm not sure why this would be done.<br />
