Microsoft Outlook 2007 installed on Windows 7 will not receive email.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 is installed on a Windows 7 PC and does not not receive email.  This PC is on the same desk another computer which has Windows XP Pro & Microsoft Outlook 2007. Everything is the same except the operating systems. They both have the same email account settings and are both running Norton 360. The Windows XP computer sends and receives email without any problem.

Email settings:

Account type  -  pop3
Incoming mail server  -  server.com       --       port 110
Outgoing mail server  -  smtp.server.com        --         port 587

Thank you for any support.

There is no error.   I turned of the Norton Smart fire wall.  I then actuated "Send/Receive all", which should have been a fload gate, but not a single email.  Thank you

It is possible to totaly disable Norton 360, and I have done so; but, still no emails. This issue with Windows 7 and Outlook is not uncommon. There is a lot of chatter on the internet about this. I think I am just going to let it rest for a while, because I am not going to be able to monitor the comments over the next few days.  If I do find a cure, I will definitely throw it out there for everyone to see.  I want to thank everyone for your efforts, and I am sure they are all valid fixes in the right circumstances. So I am going issue credit.      --   Joe
