Send external email through relay connector on Exchange 2010

Hi, I need to be able to send an external generated email through our exchange 2010 server and back out of the domain to client mail addresses.

The external application is called "perfectforms", there are settings to configure this using your own smtp server for sending out notifications rather than using theres.

I need to create a relay connector to allow this, but don't want to have it completely open so I need to be able to tie it down.

Any help appreciated.

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This does not provide enough detail, I have found other links that take it a little further though.

We already have an application relay set for internal use, but as mentioned I need a specific external one setup.

I also still need to also identify the smtp address of my exchange 2010 server, everything I can see on the connector settings show simular to this:  ABC-EXCH1.ABC.LOCAL

Where can I get an address to point to the exchange server, our MX point to symantec messagelabs.

Any ideas?
