We are using ESXi 4.0 on a remote host 200 miles away and we have reason to think a drive may be going bad. Other than having someone go in a check for amber lights, is there any way to get a diagnostic report or test the physical drives on the VM host while keeping the VMs live?<br />

Test physical drives on VM host

Software is any set of instructions that directs a computer to perform specific tasks or operations. VMware has many software products that run on desktops, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS, which allows the virtualizing of the x86 architecture.  Its enterprise software hypervisor for servers, VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi), is a bare-metal hypervisor that runs directly on the server hardware and does not require an additional underlying operating system.
