    Assisted Solution

The Core i7 is still the best CPU for the home market.    AMD will finally have a competitive chip with the new "Bulldozer" FX processor -- but it still wont' outperform a high-end i7 ... especially the new Socket 2011 E-series Sandy Bridge chips coming out next month.

If you want a top-of-the-line system, go with one of the new E-series Sandy Bridge hex-core CPU's and an X79 chipset motherboard.    Can't buy them yet ... but you will be able to in just a few weeks.
