I want to create Rules Wizard in Outlook to send out a reply e-mail with an attachment....

All I see as far as choices for an auto reply in the Rules Wizard is to reply with a "Specific Template"... not sure how to work with templates or to use them to create an e-mail with text and an attachment....

    Hi, scarnson.

To create a template, create a message, enter a subject and body, attach your file, then save the message as an Outlook template (File > Save As > Outlook Template).  Make sure that you don't address the message to anyone.  Now when you create your rule you can choose that template as the one to use for your response.

Hmmm.. I am having a problem with this.... I wrote quite and extensive reply message, created an attachment and saved as a template... for some bizzarre reason... it retains the sender info and the attachement, but will not save and retain the text in the body of the e-mail - It lost all my original text.... I tried retyping it in the body and Saving, and doing a Save As,,, and when I reopen the message, it has lost all the text in the body yet again -

Hmm... very strange... seems once I save it, it won't take any edits after that?? Have you seen this before - appears I have to create the text the first time.... cannot be edited...?

Ok - I got it working - for whatever reason, once created, it won't let me edit the body of the message... maybe the file is being "held" by Outlook once it's designated.

When I edited and did a Save As with a New File Name, then it saved and it works... thanks so much for your help with this - !!!!
