Does anyone know of a web service or file download that can provide the COUNTY based on street address, city and state?

Thanks.

Thanks mcp111, but I'm looking to return the County. Also, can't use zipcode for this as multiple counties would be returned, need to use address to return a unique county. MilissaData does this (http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/addressverify.asp), but for quite a hefty premium.

Lowfatspread, USA and postal. Thanks!!

Actually at that website you can enter the full address and then hit Find. Then in the results page click " Show mailing address details" and it will display lots of details including the county for that address.
And everything is free.

Thanks, but I just need to return the County, from some service, via query. I'm pulling 100's of thousands of records.

Just some thoughts,

I use the Melissa Data Address Object (http://www.melissadata.com/addressobject/addressobject.htm).

Like you mentioned, not cheap but works very well.  I've actually wrapped the object in a CLR so I can access the results via a table valued function in a T-SQL query.  Very convenient, but very slow (it has to do text file lookups based on their own custom algorithms).

Lastly (and very important) If you're pulling 100's of thousand of records this way (in real time query), it'll slow your query down BIG BIG BIG time.  It'd be better to batch the process and then pull clean data.
