The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted

I have a SQL 2008 server.  An application installs on remote machines and writes to this database.  I can successfully perform this installation on 3 of the 4 servers I need to, however on the 4th machine I receive the following error:

271011 17:33:14 ERRO: CheckDBCreation failed to create database. Error: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted.)

The SQL server has no certificates in it's personal computer folder to export and i don't even think it needs it.  I think the client thinks it's in a different network or smething and elevates security.  This is driving me nuts and is putting quite a bit of time sink into an overdue project.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I'm an admin, not a programmer.  i know a little SQL but not a ton.

Should be noted that "Force Encryption" is set to NO for this instance.

Sorry figured this out already.  My client was forcing encryption, not the server.  Problem resolved
