Email Account

I have had an email account for many years.  After a number of mergers and acquisitions, I am now back to being in the ATT.NET "family".  Unfortunately, ATT is a family that doesn't communicate very well with its "family" members, and after spending endless hours trying to get an answer to a problem I'm having with receiving my webmail I've decided to switch to an email service provider that offers accessible customer service.  The problem I'm having is that about half of the emails that arrive in my mailbox appear in my Inbox, even though ALL of them are successfully forwarded to my Blackberry (therefore have been successfully received).  Since this morning I've had problems with my Outlook sending and receiving emails, and after trying all of the recommended Outlook solutions I'm beginning to wonder if it's all due to something with the sbcglobal/yahoo/att webmail account where all emails originate.

Can you recommend a good email service provider?  I just need an individual account, and don't need bells and whistles.  All I need is a dependable server that will forward my emails to Outlook and my Blackberry, and who I can reach if there is an occasional problem.  As an alternative, do you have any idea what the problem is with my email account (with the symptoms being roughly half of my incoming emails, and NONE of my sent emails showing in my Inbox or Sent folder - even though the emails I send DO make it to their destination, and as far as I can tell all the incoming emails are successfully routed to my Blackberry).

I am using a Windows 7 computer with Mozilla Firefox as my browser, if that helps.

GMail is, imo, the best web-based inbox provider.
