I'm thinking to create new cronjob below but I no idea how to create it

/home/sybase/local/bin/manualSyncTest_DBS  Input1  Input2 > /home/sybase/edt_local/log/manualSyncTest_DB/crontabManualSync.log

anyway, can I run the command below  without using cronjob ?
manualSyncTest_DBS  Input1  Input2 > /home/sybase/edt_local/log/manualSyncTest_DB/crontabManualSync.log

May be write a small shellscript to execute that command and schedule the script in cron?

    Accepted Solution

If that's a custom script that does Sybase stuff, you'll need to make sure the cron job picks up the full sybase environment.

ie. depending on your shell, it would probably look something like this:

    su - sybase -c /home/sybase/local/bin/manualSyncTest_DBS [... etc ...]

    Assisted Solution

Create a script (ie. e put this code inside him.

    manualSyncTest_DBS  Input1  Input2 > /home/sybase/edt_local/log/manualSyncTest_DB/crontabManualSync.log

So after this, put this file into crontab (crontab -e) like example:

    00 5 * * * /sybase/develop/

You have logged in as sybase user.
