Does a sentinel pro work with a parallel usb adapter?

I have a computer with Windows XP where the motherboard failed.  I replaced it only to find out it does not have a parallel port. My client has a sentinel pro that requires a parallel (DB25) port.

I found an adapter online that converts the DB25 to a USB.  Would this adapter allow the sentinel to function?  It is for an old DOS program.

since those dongles use drivers  that are different for usb and parallel I would say it will not work, you can try
contacting the vendor and have him replace the parallel dongle with a usb one.

a better solution is to purchase a parallel pci card like that one for 20$  :
