Change order of colums in a content type used in a custom list

I have a couple of content types used in different custom list. Things are working as planned - besides the missing option (speak the missing button) "column order": I can't find a way to order the columns shown on the newform.aspx within a content type. Any hints?

I followed the steps shown here ( but again can't find the "columnn order" button. I only have "Add from existing site columns"
